Kazakhstan's Minister of Internal Affairs, Yerzhan Sadenov, during a government meeting recently outlined enhanced safety measures for tourists.
Specialized tourist police units are now operating in popular tourist areas. These officers are proficient in foreign languages and are deployed at key attractions and national parks. Their role is to maintain order and offer consultations to visitors.
Tourist sites are also being equipped with CCTV surveillance and panic buttons.
The Ministry is actively cracking down on illegal private transportation services and consistently conducting operative-preventative operations. They're also providing assistance to transit drivers.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs is working closely with the Ministry of Tourism to ensure the integrity of tour operators. They're also collaborating with the Ministry of Emergency Situations on safety along tourist routes.
"We'll continue our efforts to raise the level of service, security, and legal protection for foreign visitors to Kazakhstan," Yerzhan Sadenov emphasized.
