The acceptance of applications for "URKER-2021" has started

The acceptance of applications for the National Award in the field of print, radio, Internet journalism "URKER - 2021" has started.

Republican and regional radio stations, print and Internet publications that produce and distribute media content on the territory of the republic are invited to participate in the Prize.

Applications are accepted from May 17 to June 15, 2021.

The submitted works must be published in the period from November 1, 2020 to June 1, 2021. Contest works must be published in a print edition, on an Internet resource or go on the air. Each applicant is eligible to participate in only two nominations.

Applications are accepted on the official website of the Prize - urker-awards.kz in 11 nominations:

Best Report of the Year
Best analytical material of the year
Best Investigative Journalism of the Year
Best Interview of the Year
Best educational material of the year
Best project at a radio station
Best News Portal of the Year
Best Newspaper of the Year
Best magazine of the year
The best material dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence

This year, as an innovation, the organizers presented a nomination in which materials dedicated to the formation of Kazakhstan during the period of Independence will be considered.

The works will be evaluated by an independent jury of the Prize, which includes reputable journalists, distinguished industry figures and international media experts from Azerbaijan and Germany.

The winners of the prestigious Prize become owners of the URKER commemorative statuette and a cash prize of one million tenge.

 


The organizers of the Prize are the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Media Damytu Kory Corporate Fund and Kazmedia Ortalygy Management Company.

The National Urker Prize is awarded for the best achievements in the field of print, radio, Internet journalism, aimed at promoting the development of multimedia journalism in the regions, increasing the prestige of journalism, establishing professional standards and criteria, and increasing civic engagement.
