Training courses on environmental journalism started in Almaty

Today, March 15, at the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi has launched training courses for journalists specializing in the environmental field (the program is attached).

The courses are held as part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, concluded in 2020.

Over the course of five days, the course participants will be explained topical issues on environmental coverage in the media, environmental education and upbringing, waste disposal and environmental protection.

A welcoming speech at the opening of the course was made by the representative of the UN Department of Global Communications in Kazakhstan - Head of the UN Information Office in Kazakhstan, Mr. Vlastimil Samek.

The speakers will be the teachers of the Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi and Chairman of the Association of Practicing Ecologists.

The training courses will run until March 19, 2021.
