
Assembly of People of Kazakhstan (hereinafter – APK) was formed by the Decree of the Head of State on March 1, 1995. Chairman of the APK – President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tokayev K.K.
The APK is one of the key institutions for strengthening interethnic interaction, which unites all ethnic groups into a single nation, implements the constitutional principle of social harmony and acts as a dialogue platform between the government and society.
The APK's active membership consists of authoritative public figures, politicians, members of Parliament and regional maslikhats, businessmen, journalists, creative and scientific intelligentsia, elders, active youth, etc.
The supreme governing body of the APK is the Session of the APK, which is held annually with the participation of the Chairman of the APK. The decision of the Session is subject to mandatory consideration by state bodies.
The Republican Council of the APK works between sessions. The Council includes representatives of republican ethnocultural associations, public figures, members of Parliament, ministers, akims of regions. The exclusive right of the APK Council is to represent five Parliamentarians to the Senate of the Parliament.
The Parliamentarians nominated by the APK represent the interests of the Kazakh people, including all ethnic groups in the Supreme Chamber of Parliament.

APK provides assistance in the development of charity in Kazakhstan. There are 30 APK volunteer centers operating throughout the country, managers and coordinators have been selected for each direction with a total of 150 people.
