About the working meeting of the Ombudsman of Kazakhstan with the Ambassador and Assistant State Secretary for Europe, Central Asia, Council of Europe, OSCE

Bern, April 20, 2022 – During a visit to the Swiss Confederation Elvira Azimova, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a meeting with Anna Ifkovits Horner, the Ambassador and Assistant State Secretary for Europe, Central Asia, Council of Europe, OSCE of Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland.

During the conversation the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to Kazakhstan's cooperation with Switzerland. Elvira Azimova informed to the Ambassador in detail about the ongoing investigation of the January events in Kazakhstan and reforms aimed to strengthen human rights.

In turn, Anna Ifkovits Horner noted that Switzerland appreciates the regular and open exchange of experience with Kazakhstan. She also expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan for the constant support provided to the country and noted its readiness to further deepen cooperation in the field of human rights protection.
