These days, the 51st meeting of the Scientific and Technical Commission for the Assessment of Conformity Bodies, the 51st meeting of the Scientific and Technical Commission for Accreditation and the 17th meeting of the working group on the creation of a regional organization for accreditation of the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification of the CIS are being held in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
The NAC is represented at the forums by the head of the Department of Accreditation of Certification Bodies, the international expert-Peer Evaluator of the Asia-Pacific Cooperation on Accreditation – ARAS – Anar Esenzhulova and the chief specialist of the Department of International Cooperation Zyulal Kabenova.
During the June 13 meeting of the Scientific and Technical Commission on Accreditation, A. Esenzhulova shared her practical experience and positive results of the NAC in the field of accreditation of validation and verification bodies from the rostrum of the meeting. The moderators of the forum noted that the Kazakhstan accreditation body has sufficient experience in this field – more than five years.
«Thanks to the progressive policy of the country's leadership, the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the NAC is a full member of the international accreditation organizations IAF, ILAC and APAC, having two appraisers in the staff Peer Evaluator, one of which has been participating in international assessments of accreditation bodies since 2014, is a provider of international requirements in the field of greenhouse gas emissions management in Kazakhstan based on ISO standards for validation and verification, - said A. Yesenzhulova. – «Accreditation is an important tool designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect the environment, and also influence emissions trading programs».
It is worth emphasizing that all the EAEU countries have ratified the Paris Climate Agreement and approved national plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but the carbon trading system for emissions is still functioning only in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In the speech of the NAC speaker, it was stated that the company's experience in the field of validation and verification is built in accordance with the Green Economy strategy, the requirements of the Paris Agreement and taking into account the introduction of the carbon border tax by the European Union. The tightening of international requirements, according to the speaker, is a serious incentive in the accreditation of bodies for the validation and verification of greenhouse gases for compliance with international ISO standards.
The participants of the meeting positively received the appeal of the representative of the NAC, and Belarusian and Armenian colleagues requested a separate videoconference in order to ask the Kazakh expert questions on the topic of accreditation of validation and verification bodies and its implementation in these countries.
