The EAEU countries have agreed on mutual recognition of academic degrees

In order to develop a common labor market and simplify the procedures for the employment of workers within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) he EAEU member States have developed a draft Agreement on mutual recognition of documents on academic degrees in the EAEU member States (Agreement).

The agreement will allow holders of academic degrees not to undergo procedures for the recognition of documents under national legislation in the EAEU countries, which will significantly simplify the employment procedure, reduce time and financial costs.

It is worth noting that within the framework of the Agreement, it is planned to mutually recognize documents on the academic degrees of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), doctor in profile, candidate and Doctor of sciences.

Thus, Kazakhstani holders of academic degrees will be able to carry out professional activities without unnecessary bureaucratic formalities in the EAEU countries. The Agreement will also allow, on the other hand, to stimulate the influx of qualified personnel to Kazakhstan, which will give an additional impetus to strengthen the teaching staff of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The signing of the Agreement by the EAEU countries is planned in the second quarter of 2023.
