What measures have been taken in the Kyzylorda region to stabilize prices for socially important food products

So, in the Kyzylorda region, 5,533 participants of intermediary chains (schemes) were identified along the entire food pricing chain and sent to the Department for the Protection and Development of Competition to conduct appropriate inspections (including 324 mining and distribution companies, 430 legal entities and individuals and wholesale supply firms, as well as 4,779 supermarkets, mini markets, household stores).

2134.3 million tenge has been allocated from the regional budget for the formation of the stabilization fund over the past two years (2020-2021).

Currently, the stabilization fund has 1376.2 tons of products, of which: wheat flour of the first grade 420.8 tons, buckwheat 75.5 tons, rice 180.4 tons, pasta 56.5 tons, potatoes 72.2 tons, onions 200 tons, sunflower oil 97.9 tons, carrots 100 tons, sugar products 172.9 tons.

According to the "revolving scheme", 973 million tenge was allocated to 18 business entities. Of the 18 entrepreneurs who received this loan, 19 socially significant food products and products of the stabilization fund are supplied and sold at below-market prices in social corners opened on the basis of an agreement in 36 social stores and 14 large supermarkets located in the city of Kyzylorda under the SEC "Baikonur".

Today, in all social stores, bread at 55 tenge, sugar at 263 tenge, vegetable oil at 630 tenge, potatoes at 130 tenge, carrots at 130 tenge, onions at 65 tenge, cabbage at 90 tenge, grade 1 flour at 135 tenge, buckwheat groats at 415 tenge, rice at 210 tenge, pasta at 200 tenge, beef at 1650 tenge, chicken (hams) at 785 tenge, eggs at 32 tenge, milk at 280 tenge, kefir at 225 tenge, cottage cheese is sold 40 tenge each.

In addition, in 2022, 1.3 billion tenge was additionally allocated from the regional budget for the formation of stocks of products under the stabilization fund and the turnover scheme in the amount of 5.0 thousand tons, of which 800.0 million tenge were allocated to increase the stocks of products of the stabilization fund, 500.0 million tenge will be used to provide loans to business entities in order to stabilize prices for socially significant food products.

In order to ensure the sale of bread at a price of no more than 90 tenge, negotiations were held with the owners of bakeries and retail sales of bread at a price of no more than 90 tenge and sales from the bakery at 80-85 tenge were agreed.

From January to August of this year, in order to stabilize bread prices in the Republic, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and JSC NC Food Corporation are taking measures to allocate cheaper wheat to the southern regions without grain production.

In addition, in accordance with the order of the Acting Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 30, 2015 No. 282 "On approval of the rules for setting thresholds of retail prices for socially significant food products and the size of the maximum allowable retail prices for them", a resolution of the Akimat of the region is being developed to approve thresholds of retail prices for socially significant food products for the quarters of 2022.

According to general statistical operational information, the index of the main socially significant food products in the Kyzylorda region since the beginning of this year as of January 18 is 100.3%.

Since the beginning of the year, prices have increased for 2 products of the main socially significant food products (cabbage - by 7.7%, potatoes- by 2.7%) and for 1 product the price has decreased (eggs- by 0.3%), prices for the remaining 16 products are stable.

In general, there are sufficient stocks of food products in retail outlets in the region, there is no shortage of food products.
