Kazakhstan's exports to Armenia increased by 66% and amounted to $ 7.3 million .

Today, on May 25, 2021, the Kazakh-Armenian Business Forum was held. Its goal is to develop trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.


The event was held in an online format, which was attended by Vice-Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev from the Kazakh side.
The forum was also attended by representatives of major Kazakhstani companies, government agencies, national holdings, and business circles of the two countries.


During the business forum, the Armenian side was also presented with Kazakhstan's investment opportunities, as well as financial instruments to support foreign investors. Representatives of JSC NC "Kazakhinvest" and JSC " ESC "KazakhExport" spoke about the investment opportunities of Kazakhstan and financial instruments to support participants in foreign economic activity.


As Vice Minister Kairat Torebayev noted, Armenia has great prospects for developing cooperation with Kazakhstan in the petrochemical industry, food industry, and mechanical engineering.


In turn, Kazakh manufacturers are interested in cooperation in such areas as the construction of railways and highways, modernization of heating networks, urban transport infrastructure and food industry.


During his speech, Kairat Torebayev gave an analysis of trade cooperation between Kazakhstan and Armenia:


  • The main exports from Kazakhstan to Armenia is pork - 473,8 thousand $ (with a share of 30.7%), as well as buttermilk, yogurt, kefir - 292,8 thousand $ (19%), batteries, electric - 152,7 thousand $ (9,9%), plastic products from 118,3 thousand $ (7,7%), furniture - 116,1 thousand $ (7,5%), cheese and curd - 103,9 thousand $ (6,7%).

  • In turn, most imported goods from Armenia to Kazakhstan are spirits - 910,3 thousand $ (with a share of 51.6%), jewellery - 294,4 thousand $ (16,7%), counters supply/production of gas, liquid and electricity - 161,5 thousand $ (9,1%), and others.
    - According to the preliminary analysis, our enterprises can increase the additional volume of non-primary trade turnover in the amount of more than $ 200 million, taking into account the positive growth of trade turnover, - Torebayev said.
  • The Vice minister also noted that in 2020, the trade turnover between our countries amounted to $ 15 million, which is 30% higher than the previous year ($11.5 million).
