The issues of labeling of goods were considered at the Meeting of the EAEU

Issues handling of marked goods in countries where there is no marking, customs rates for aluminum fluoride.

These and other issues were discussed during the meeting of the EEC Council. Recall that from January 1, 2021, the Republic of Kazakhstan will preside over the bodies of the EAEU.

The next meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission was held on January 29, 2021, under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov via videoconference.

Also, for the first time, the meeting of the Council was attended by Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan S. U. Umurzakov as a representative of the observer state.

During the meeting, the members of the Council discussed issues in the field of foreign trade, customs and technical regulation, and international cooperation.

In particular, it approved a basic model of a system labeling by means of identification in the Eurasian economic Union, establishing the procedure and the mechanism of interaction between the countries of obyedineniya imposed marking their territories, and countries of the EAEU, which are not marking their territories.

The adopted design makes it possible to prevent the emergence of barriers to trade in cases where one country has introduced mandatory labeling, and another does not.

In order to support manufacturers and importers of electronics and household appliances in the conditions of quarantine measures related to the spread of COVID-19, the deadline for the entry into force of the EAEU technical regulation "On Energy Security Requirements" (EAEU TR 048/2019) has been extended to September 1, 2022.

In addition, the Council's decision extended the "zero" rate of customs duty until the end of 2023 for aluminum fluoride used in the production of aluminum by electrolysis.

This measure is aimed at maintaining the competitiveness of the aluminum industry and the development of domestic industrial production.

At the initiative of the Kazakh side, the issue of the expediency of making changes to the Agreement on Common Principles and Rules for the Circulation of Medicines within the EAEU of December 23, 2014 in terms of maintaining the possibility of registering medicines necessary for consumption in the domestic market in accordance with national legislation was considered.
