Kazakhstan and Iran signed a BOT agreement on the construction of a Kazakh transport and logistics terminal at the port of Shahid Rajaei

A solemn ceremony for signing a BOT agreement (Build-Operate-Transfer) on the transfer of a land plot in the port of Shahid Rajaee (Bandar Abbas) for the construction of a Kazakh transport and logistics terminal was held at the Ports and Maritime Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

On the Kazakh side, the agreement was signed by Aman Malgazhdarov, General Director of the Corporate Fund QazExportPromotion under JSC "Trade Policy Development Center "QazTrade" of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and on the Iranian side, the agreement was signed by Hossein Abbas Nejad, Head of the Ports and Maritime Organization of Hormozgan Province – Head of the SEZ "Port of Shahid Rajaee".

The agreement is concluded for a period of 27 years. Of these, 2 years are allocated for the construction of the terminal, and the subsequent 25 years for the operation of the facility. The commercial commissioning of the terminal is scheduled for the third year of the project implementation.

The implementation of this project will become an important stage in the development of transport and logistics cooperation between Kazakhstan and Iran. The creation of a Kazakh terminal in Iran's largest port will strengthen the transit potential of the International North–South Transport Corridor, increase the resilience of logistics routes, and expand the geography of Kazakh exports by ensuring effective access to the markets of the Persian Gulf countries, South and Southeast Asia, as well as East Africa.
