In 2025, a national information system for the industry will be introduced

On March 15th this year, at a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Vice Minister Zhannat Dubirova delivered a speech in which she discussed the implementation of a project approach and the definition of project portfolios for each industry, as well as the Ministry's plans for 2024.

«We have started creating a national information system for the industry, which should cover all industrial sectors and become a platform for interaction with enterprises, as well as for forming data analytics, integrating with information systems of state bodies for the information exchange, and generating new data for decision-making on industrial development,» said the Vice Minister.

The system's implementation is planned in two phases: in 2024, the main development and pilot work are scheduled for the first phase, and in 2025, digitization will be completed, and the system will be launched.

Additionally, Zhannat Dubirova discussed the current project of the Unified Platform for Subsoil Users (minerals.gov.kz), for which work on uploading, indexing reports, and digitizing 10 of the 23 government services is planned for this year. Regarding the construction sector, the Vice Minister emphasized the need to create a digital ecosystem for the construction industry and discussed plans to develop an information system to ensure centralized and systematic data collection for housing and communal services.

Concluding her speech, Zhannat Dubirova shared positive data on the tasks completed in January: the implementation of the Ministry's Unified Contact Center, the creation of a Project Management Office, which will allow monitoring over 700 ongoing projects simultaneously, and the launch of an online system for submitting reports on compliance with license and contractual conditions.
