During a visit to Denver, Colorado, Kanat Sharlapaev, the Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, participated in a roundtable with Paul Johnson, President of the Colorado School of Mines, representatives of the United States Geological Survey (USGS), as well as representatives from the Colorado Mining Association and leading experts from the American scientific community in the field of geology. In the discussions, Kanat Sharlapaev detailed the reforms being carried out in Kazakhstan in the sphere of subsoil use, aimed at increasing efficiency and environmental sustainability in the mining sector, as well as at improving the investment climate in the industry.
Special attention was given to Kazakhstan's intention to actively implement artificial intelligence in geological exploration processes, which will significantly increase the efficiency and accuracy of mineral search and extraction. AI is planned to be widely used not only for analyzing geological data but also for optimizing exploration and exploitation processes of deposits, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the Kazakh geological industry at an international level.
The American scientific community expressed support for the reforms undertaken by Kazakhstan and a readiness for cooperation, exchange of best practices, and the development of joint innovative projects. This meeting laid the groundwork for further scientific and technical cooperation and knowledge exchange in the field of geology and mineral extraction between the two countries.
This initiative between Kazakhstan and the USA not only contributes to the development of geological science and technology but also opens new horizons for both states in the field of research and utilization of natural resources, promoting sustainable development and technological progress.
