Kazakh Film Festival Opens in the Republic of Korea

Busan, June 24, 202 – The opening ceremony of the Kazakh Film Festival was held in the southern capital of the Republic of Korea.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Bakyt Dyussenbayev, as well as representatives of the Busan City Hall, the diplomatic corps, business circles, the public and the media. In total, the event was attended by about 200 people.

Opening this event, Ambassador Dyussenbayev noted the great symbolism of the fact that the Kazakh Film Festival opened for the first time in the city, where the most famous international film festival in Asia is held annually.

On the first day of the film festival, the film "Fire" directed by Aizhan Kasymbek, who is a graduate of the Busan Film Academy, was screened. It is noteworthy that the world premiere of this film took place in the city of Busan as part of the international film festival. In her congratulatory speech, Kassymbek expressed her gratitude to the Korean audience for the constant interest and warm responses to her work.

Kazakh film festival is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and is held within the framework of the Year of Cultural Exchange. In total, 8 Kazakhstani films are presented at the film festival, which participated in the Busan International Film Festival in different years.
