Kazakhstan and Tajikistan Strengthen Interparliamentary Ties

Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Tajikistan Valikhan Turekhanov held a meeting with Fayzali Idizoda, Chairman of the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.

During the meeting, the Ambassador briefed his interlocutor on the constitutional reforms carried out in Kazakhstan, the transition to a unicameral Parliament - the Kurultai - as well as the key approaches to further developing interparliamentary cooperation in light of the new parliamentary structure.

The sides discussed the current state and prospects of Kazakhstan-Tajikistan interparliamentary cooperation, noting their mutual interest in maintaining continuity in the established ties, developing direct contacts between the legislative bodies of the two countries, and continuing cooperation within international parliamentary organizations and platforms.

Following the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen the Kazakhstan-Tajikistan interparliamentary dialogue and expand practical cooperation.
