
Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Arab Emirates, Rauan Zhumabek, held a series of meetings with senior officials of the Emirate and representatives of the business community.
During the meeting with Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, the Ambassador briefed the Emirati side on the large-scale political and socio-economic reforms being implemented in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as on the country's ongoing electoral process and the activities of the National Kurultai.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects for further strengthening Kazakhstan–UAE cooperation, with particular emphasis on expanding collaboration with the Emirate of Ajman in the fields of trade, investment, and tourism.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to promote and strengthen business ties between the business communities of Kazakhstan and the Emirate of Ajman, facilitate the implementation of joint investment initiatives, and further expand bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
In talks with Obaid Al Matrooshi, Director General of the Ajman Free Zone Authority, the parties discussed ways to enhance investment cooperation, create favorable conditions for the implementation of joint projects, and exchange best practices in the development and management of free economic zones. The Emirati side expressed its interest in further strengthening cooperation, including through organizing investment roadshows in Kazakhstan to showcase the opportunities offered by the Ajman Free Zone and establish direct contacts with the Kazakh business community.
At the meeting with Thumbay Moideen, President of Thumbay Group, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of healthcare, medical education, investment, and the implementation of mutually beneficial projects.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue their cooperation, including by exploring opportunities to implement joint projects in healthcare, develop medical infrastructure, strengthen healthcare workforce capacity, and promote the exchange of expertise. Both sides also expressed their interest in expanding cooperation and establishing direct contacts between the relevant institutions.
The meetings reaffirmed the mutual commitment of both sides to further expanding bilateral cooperation and advancing new joint initiatives aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates.
Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi has served as the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Ajman since 1993. He also serves as Chairman of the Executive Council of Ajman and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ajman Bank. He plays an active role in advancing the Emirate's socio-economic development strategy, including the implementation of the Ajman Vision 2030 programme.
Established in 1988, the Ajman Free Zone (AFZ) is one of the oldest and fastest-growing free zones in the United Arab Emirates. Today, it is home to more than 20,000 companies from over 165 countries operating across a broad range of sectors, including trade, manufacturing, logistics, information technology, e-commerce, and services.
As of today, 316 companies with Kazakh participation are registered in the Ajman Free Zone, of which 87 are currently active.
