Kazakhstan and Albania Outlined Further Steps to Develop Bilateral Cooperation

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Albania Iskander Aisariyev held a meeting with Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania Megi Fino.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Kazakh-Albanian relations, with particular emphasis on further strengthening political dialogue, expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, enhancing transport connectivity, and further developing the bilateral legal framework.

The interlocutors reviewed the agenda of upcoming bilateral contacts. They underscored the importance of ensuring substantive outcomes from forthcoming visits through concrete agreements and practical initiatives, including in the areas of trade, economic and investment cooperation.

Particular attention was given to the prospects of establishing direct air connectivity between Kazakhstan and Albania. The parties expressed their interest in continuing joint efforts in this area.

In the trade and economic sphere, the parties noted the importance of further strengthening direct contacts between the relevant government institutions and business communities of the two countries, advancing concrete investment projects, and intensifying cooperation between the respective agencies.

During the meeting, the Ambassador briefed the Albanian side on the major political and constitutional reforms underway in Kazakhstan. He outlined the country’s new institutional architecture, including the transition to a unicameral Parliament – the Kurultai – and preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The Ambassador emphasized that these reforms are aimed at further modernizing public administration, strengthening representative institutions, and ensuring the consistent development of the country’s political system.

The parties also exchanged views on a number of issues on the international and regional agenda.

The discussion also touched upon Kazakhstan’s historical and cultural heritage, including the significance of the legacy of the Golden Horde in the history of Eurasia.

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in maintaining regular political dialogue and further developing practical cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
