Exhibition Industry and Telecommunications Cooperation Discussed in Brno

Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Czech Republic Kairat Abdrakhmanov held a meeting with Jan Kubata, Chief Executive Officer of the  BVV Trade Fairs Brno.

During the meeting the opportunities for expanding bilateral economic cooperation, strengthening business-to-business ties and advancing joint projects between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic were discussed.

The parties highlighted Brno's role as one of Central Europe's leading business, technology and exhibition hubs and discussed opportunities to increase the participation of Kazakh companies in international trade fairs hosted by BVV Trade Fairs Brno, including through the organisation of business forums dedicated to Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The Czech side, in turn, expressed interest in cooperating with its Kazakh counterparts to facilitate the participation of Czech businesses in industrial, energy and agricultural exhibitions held in Kazakhstan.

It was noted that Kazakhstan's current stage of development, marked by the entry into force of the country's new Constitution on 1 July 2026, creates new opportunities for the business community by further strengthening stability and fostering a favourable investment climate.

The parties agreed to continue cooperation with a view to further expanding collaboration in the exhibition industry and other areas of mutual interest, building on the understandings reached during the recent official visit of Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš to Astana.

During a separate meeting with Richard Malovič, Chief Executive Officer of “Whalebone”, the parties exchanged views on cybersecurity, the use of advanced digital platforms, the development of innovative technological solutions and the strengthening of cooperation between the business communities of Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic.

Particular attention was devoted to opportunities for cooperation in digital transformation, the deployment of innovative technologies and the application of artificial intelligence across various sectors of the economy.

The Kazakh side briefed its counterpart on the measures being implemented by the Government of Kazakhstan to advance the country's digital agenda, develop digital infrastructure and enhance digital literacy, including in the field of cybersecurity.

Richard Malovič noted company's successful experience in the Kazakh market and expressed confidence in the company's prospects for further expanding its presence in the country. He also highlighted Kazakhstan's leading role in Central Asia and its significant potential for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The parties expressed their readiness to continue cooperation with a view to broadening bilateral engagement and implementing new promising projects.

BVV Trade Fairs Brno is the largest exhibition and convention venue in Central Europe, with a history spanning 98 years. It hosts around 90 events annually, including the internationally renowned International Engineering Fair (MSV) and the IDET International Defence and Security Technologies Fair.
