Prospects for Kazakh-Greek Cooperation Discussed in Athens

A scientific and practical conference entitled “Kazakhstan and Greece: Historical Retrospective and Vectors of Contemporary Cooperation” was held in the capital of Greece, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Hellenic Republic.

The event was dedicated to issues related to strengthening Kazakh-Greek cooperation, the ongoing reforms in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the importance of interethnic harmony as one of the key foundations for the country’s sustainable development. Particular attention during the conference was paid to the role of Pontic Greeks as an important humanitarian bridge between Kazakhstan and Greece.

The conference brought together representatives of the Greek public, associations of the Greek diaspora, Kazakh compatriots residing in Greece, as well as representatives of local self-government bodies.

A separate part of the program was devoted to an overview of the key reforms being implemented in the Republic of Kazakhstan and their significance for the country’s further development. The conference concluded with an open discussion, during which participants exchanged views on further expanding humanitarian and public ties between Kazakhstan and Greece.
