Kazakhstan and Ethiopia Explore New Formats of Business Partnership

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the African Union Zhalgas Adilbayev held a meeting with the General Manager of the Oromia Coffee Farmer’s Cooperative Union, the largest association of coffee producers in Ethiopia Dejene Dadi Dika.

During the friendly exchange, the parties discussed prospects for strengthening trade ties between Kazakhstan and Ethiopia.

The interlocutors noted the significant untapped potential for trade, economic, and investment cooperation, which has yet to be fully realized.

Particular attention was paid to the supply of high-quality Ethiopian coffee to the Kazakhstan market, as well as opportunities for establishing direct contacts between the business communities of the two nations. The Ambassador emphasized Kazakhstan's interest in diversifying trade markets and routes, as well as supporting agro-industrial partnerships.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current development stages of both countries, noting the high dynamics of domestic political and economic reforms implemented by the leaders of both states.

Specifically, the Kazakh Ambassador provided detailed information on the key initiatives of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced at the Kurultai. Special emphasis was placed on Kazakhstan's transition to a new political model, which includes the transformation of the legislative branch, the establishment of the post of Vice President, and the strengthening of national and civic identity.

D.Dadi expressed great interest in the Kazakh experience of ensuring social stability and involving civil society in public administration.

The parties agreed to continue the dialogue to organize a future visit of Ethiopian business representatives to Kazakhstan. This visit will aim to establish cooperation with Kazakh counterparts and study the country's logistical capabilities and investment climate.
