
Cairo, November 6, 2025 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Arab Republic of Egypt Askar Zhenis held a meeting with Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Malki, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Economic Affairs Sector of the League of Arab States (LAS).
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation in the economic and investment spheres. The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the League of Arab States for its continued support in developing bilateral and multilateral partnerships. He noted that in October this year, at the initiative and with the organization of Kazakhstan, the first-ever meeting between representatives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the League of Arab States took place in Astana as part of Kazakhstan Energy Week.
The League of Arab States commended the steady development of investment and trade-economic relations between Kazakhstan and Arab countries and highlighted the great potential for their further strengthening. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Malki emphasized the opportunities Kazakhstan offers to investors, including a favorable investment climate, a stable business environment, and promising sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and logistics. He also expressed readiness to utilize the mechanisms of the LAS and the Union of Arab Chambers to attract new investors and facilitate direct contacts between business communities.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to giving economic interaction a systematic and long-term character, elevating it to a new level and ensuring a stable exchange of experience, investment, and technology between the Arab world and the countries of Central Asia.
The League of Arab States (LAS) is a regional organization uniting Arab countries of the Middle East and North Africa. Kazakhstan has held observer status at the LAS since July 2009. The Arab Economic and Cooperation Forum with the Countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan serves as a principal LAS platform for advancing trade, investment, and joint development initiatives between the Arab world and the Central Asian region.
