Kazakhstan Presented a Traditional Yurt to the International Organization of Turkic Culture

Ankara, October 14, 2025 – Within the framework of the 35th anniversary of the Declaration of State Sovereignty, Republic Day, and the project “Aktau – Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2025”, a solemn ceremony was held to present a traditional Kazakh yurt to the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) on behalf of Kazakhstan — symbolizing the shared heritage of the Turkic world.

The event was attended by Deputy Akim of the Mangystau Region Tilegen Abishev, Mayor of Aktau Abilkhayir Baipakov, Head of the Department of Culture, Language Development and Archives of Mangystau Region Nurtas Sali, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, Governor of Ankara Vasip Şahin, Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development Party for Relations with Turkic States Kurshad Zorlu, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye Serdar Çam, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, ambassadors of Turkic states, members of the diplomatic corps, and cultural figures.

During the ceremony, the Kazakh delegation emphasized that the presentation of the sacred yurt symbolizes the wish for unity and cooperation among all Turkic nations under one shared roof.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Türkiye, Yerkebulan Sapiyev noted that Kazakhstan, as one of the founding members of TURKSOY, attaches special importance to cultural cooperation within the Turkic world.

TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev expressed his gratitude to Kazakhstan for this meaningful gift and highly appreciated the nearly 30 major events held within the framework of “Aktau – Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2025.”

During the event, guests visited an exhibition dedicated to Kazakhstan’s tourist attractions and tasted dishes of traditional Kazakh cuisine.
