Hague, October 9, 2025 – A business forum titled “Investing in Kazakhstan: New Horizons for Dutch Business” was held in The Hague. The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of the Netherlands with the aim of familiarizing a broad audience with the key provisions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s Address “Kazakhstan in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Key Tasks and Their Solutions through Digital Transformation.” The forum served as a vivid example of constructive dialogue and fruitful exchange of views with representatives of Dutch government institutions, business associations, and companies, reflecting their growing interest in new opportunities for cooperation with Kazakhstan. Presentations by the Kazakh side covered prospects for Dutch investors in light of the latest changes in Kazakhstan’s investment policy and the expansion of state support measures for entrepreneurship.
Opening the meeting, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Netherlands Kairat Abdrakhmanov emphasized that, under the leadership of the President, Kazakhstan continues to demonstrate steady economic growth while consistently pursuing the course of economic diversification and digitalization. In his remarks, the Ambassador briefed the participants on the key priorities of the President’s Address, noting that the document defines the strategic direction of the country’s development in the context of the new technological era. Gaziza Bakhmani, Deputy Director General of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), highly commended Kazakhstan’s efforts to create a conducive and transparent business environment, expressing confidence that sustainable development and the new reforms are opening up additional opportunities for Dutch business.
“Kazakhstan remains an important partner for the Netherlands – not only due to emerging economic opportunities, but also thanks to mutual trust and a shared vision for the future. Recently, we organized a trade mission on critical raw materials, and earlier successfully implemented a project on port development and logistics. These initiatives demonstrate the high level of our cooperation and our confidence in its continued strengthening,” noted Gaziza Bakhmani.
Ulbosyn Sarybayeva, Regional Representative for Europe of the “KazakhInvest” National Company, delivered a comprehensive presentation introducing new instruments and incentives aimed at attracting foreign investors. Sairan Baizakhanov, Special Representative in Europe for Critical Raw Materials, outlined Kazakhstan’s significant potential in the field of rare-earth elements and sustainable subsoil use. Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) – Job van Tiel and Kalina Vrieze – shared the outcomes of the recent Dutch business mission to Kazakhstan, underlining the successful nature of the visit and the growing interest of Dutch companies in expanding cooperation with their Kazakh counterparts.
The world-renowned company Royal Philips presented new directions in high-tech business. Royal Rijk Zwaan, which recently celebrated its 100th anniversary, shared its successful experience of operating in Kazakhstan, where the introduction of Dutch technologies in seed production is helping to increase yields, improve product quality, and create new jobs, thereby making a tangible contribution to the country’s food security.
The forum participants discussed plans for the implementation of new joint projects and expressed confidence that cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands will continue to develop on the basis of mutual trust and shared interests.
As a testament to this commitment, the event featured a signing ceremony of a Roadmap between the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan and Royal Philips on the launch of the production of portable ultrasound devices, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding between “Kazakh Invest” National Company and Tulip Magazine, a Netherlands-based publication, aimed at promoting business success stories and fostering cultural ties between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands.
Particular attention was drawn to new steps toward expanding the institution of Honorary Consuls of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The new Honorary Consuls – Frederik Vossenaar and Derk Kool – expressed their readiness to actively promote Kazakh-Dutch economic initiatives and to contribute to the strengthening of humanitarian and business relations.
