Hong Kong, October 2, 2025 – The Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hong Kong SAR, People's Republic of China, Bauyrzhan Dosmanbetov, presented Kazakhstan’s views on the low-altitude economy at the Belt and Road Low-altitude Economy (LAE) Conference, framing it as a key driver for the country’s ambitious digital transformation and economic modernization goals. The forum served as a platform for international dialogue on how low-altitude technologies can address infrastructure, sustainability and service delivery challenges.
In his speech, the Consul General shared Kazakhstan’s perspective on the transformative role of low-altitude technologies in advancing national development. He highlighted that technologies such as drones and autonomous aerial systems can directly support the key priorities outlined in President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s recent State of the nation Address, namely digital transformation, infrastructure modernization and regional connectivity. Given Kazakhstan’s vast and diverse territory, low-altitude aerial solutions offer practical applications in areas such as agriculture, logistics, public services and natural resource monitoring.
The diplomat also highlighted the Alatau City project, a planned smart and sustainable city developed in partnership with Chinese stakeholders, as a promising platform for piloting low-altitude technologies. Due to the rapid development of the low-altitude economy in Kazakhstan, international partners have expressed interest in cooperation in this sector.
The low-altitude economy is a sector of the economy based on the use of airspace at low altitudes (up to 1,000 meters) for commercial and civil purposes.
