“Digital Diplomacy”: Kazakhstan and Portugal Seek to Broaden Cooperation in Digitalisation

Lisbon, 2 October 2025 – In line with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s Address to the People of Kazakhstan, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Portugal Jean Galiev met on with Eduardo Baptista Correia, Chief Executive Officer of “Taguspark”, one of Europe’s leading technology parks.

During the meeting, Ambassador Galiev briefed his counterpart on Kazakhstan’s national agenda for the digital transformation of all sectors of the economy and the active integration of artificial intelligence.

Both sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the IT industry, promoting innovative start-ups, and advancing high-tech projects.

The management of “Taguspark” commended Kazakhstan’s efforts in this field and expressed its readiness to establish mutually beneficial partnerships through knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and collaboration in IT and AI education.

Located in the municipality of Oeiras, within the Lisbon metropolitan area, “Taguspark” is a prominent science and technology hub, home to numerous research laboratories, innovative start-ups, and business incubators across sectors such as information technology, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, electronics, green energy, and biotechnology.
