Riyadh, October 2, 2025 – At the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a roundtable dedicated to the discussion of the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions was held. The event was attended by representatives of the Muslim World League, experts from Saudi Arabia’s leading analytical centers, as well as journalists from local media outlets such as Al-Riyadh, Al-Yaum, Al-Jazirah, and As-Sada News.
In his remarks, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Madiyar Menilbekov, highlighted the special significance of the Congress on the international stage. He emphasized that Kazakhstan’s initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and mutual understanding, and promoting interfaith and intercivilizational dialogue, are highly appreciated by the global community. The Ambassador also noted that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attaches particular importance to the development of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions as a permanent dialogue platform.
During the event, participants discussed the relevance and international significance of Kazakhstan’s initiatives. Saudi experts praised Kazakhstan’s role in advancing the ideas of peace and harmony, stressing the importance of the country’s experience for the Islamic world.
As part of the round table, the General Manager of Strategic Partnerships of the Muslim World League, Shaima Alluqmani, delivered a speech on behalf of the Secretary-General of the League, Muhammad Al-Issa, giving a high assessment of the event. She underlined that Kazakhstan’s initiatives hold particular importance in addressing contemporary challenges and fostering intercivilizational dialogue.
