Address of the President of Kazakhstan and Bilateral Cooperation Discussed in South Africa

Pretoria, October 1, 2025 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan in the Republic of South Africa Yerkin Akhinzhanov met with Gwen Ramokgopa, Treasurer-General of the African National Congress, South Africa’s largest party in the Coalition Government, in the administrative capital of South Africa.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of topics of mutual interest, with particular focus on strengthening inter-party and inter-parliamentary relations, deepening cooperation in business, trade, and the economy, and expanding collaboration in science, education, and tourism.

Ambassador Akhinzhanov also briefed the South African side on the key points of the State of the Nation Address of the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, entitled «Kazakhstan in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Current Challenges and Their Solutions Through Digital Transformation» The discussion highlighted the development of modern urban systems based on the Smart City model, the integration of digital technologies into urban management, and the expansion of transport corridors as part of regional connectivity and sustainable economic growth.

In turn, the South African politician confirmed her interest in further developing bilateral cooperation, through initiatives aimed at exchanging experience and knowledge.
