Kazakhstan Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Dialogue and Protection of Minority Rights at the UN Conference on the Situation in Myanmar

New York, September 30, 2025 – Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations, Kairat Umarov, delivered a statement at the High-Level Conference of the UN General Assembly dedicated to the situation of the Rohingya and other minorities in Myanmar.

Kazakhstan expressed its support for international efforts to find a sustainable and inclusive resolution to the crisis. In his remarks, the Kazakh diplomat emphasized that the current exchange of views is regarded as an important step toward collective solutions that respect the rights of minorities, foster inclusive dialogue, and create conditions for the economic and social progress of all communities.

Permanent Representative Umarov also highlighted the importance of Kazakhstan’s experience in strengthening interethnic and interfaith harmony based on the principle of “unity in diversity”, including the convening of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana.

Kazakhstan reaffirmed its readiness for constructive cooperation with UN Member States, regional organizations, and UN entities to promote collective approaches to the protection of minority rights and the achievement of sustainable peace in the region.
