Kazakhstan delivered humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan

Herat, September 24, 2025 – An official ceremony of handing over humanitarian aid from the Republic of Kazakhstan to the people of Afghanistan was held with the assistance of the Kazakhstan «KazAID» Agency for International Development at the «Turgundi» railway station in the Afghan province of Herat.

The event was attended by Charge d'affaires of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Afghanistan Gaziz Akbasov, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, the Administration of the governor of Herat province, as well as the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA).  

The Kazakh humanitarian aid for Afghanistan includes 26 railway wagons with sugar, flour, canned meat, tea, blankets and tents. The total cargo volume is 272.7 tons.

At the ceremony G.Akbassov stressed that the Government of Kazakhstan intends to further strengthen the atmosphere of trust and cooperation with Afghanistan, including through the provision of humanitarian assistance.

The Afghan side expressed gratitude to the leadership and people of Kazakhstan for their support during the difficult period, noting that the provided assistance will be directed to citizens affected by the earthquake and distributed among the neediest provinces of the country.
