Croatian companies are interested in cooperation with Kazakhstan

Zagreb, September 17, 2025The Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Croatia, Daulet Batrashev, held a series of meetings with the leadership of Croatia’s leading companies in the innovation ecosystem. The negotiations were part of ongoing efforts to advance cooperation in the fields of digitalization, artificial intelligence, and sustainable technological development.

During the meeting with Tomislav Vazdar, a Board Member of the Artificial Intelligence Association CroAI, the parties discussed the opportunities for experience sharing and the participation of Croatian AI startups in Kazakhstani projects, including within the framework of the creation of Alatau Digital City.

Goran Dautović, Vice President of Verne, informed the Kazakh diplomat about the company’s plans to launch an autonomous transport service. Of particular interest was the robotaxi project, viewed as an important element in the development of “smart cities”.

Discussions with Agrivi focused on issues of introducing digital solutions in Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector, including crop yield monitoring systems and farm management technologies D. Batrashev and the company’s CEO, Matija Žulj, emphasized the potential for joint projects in Kazakhstan’s agrarian regions.

Davor Anićic, CEO of Velebit AI, presented the company’s developments in machine learning, data analytics, and computer vision, expressing strong interest in applying these technologies in healthcare, agriculture, and smart city projects in Kazakhstan.

As a result of the meetings, the parties agreed to elaborate practical formats of cooperation. Daulet Batrashev stressed that Kazakhstan considers Croatia as a promising partner in the sphere of innovation and digital technologies, and that cooperation with leading Croatian companies will strengthen the technological potential of both countries.

For his part, Hrvoje Čuvalo, Chairman of the Board of the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR), expressed the Bank’s interest in expanding cooperation with Kazakhstani partners and confirmed its readiness to provide financial support for Croatian companies’ projects in Kazakhstan.
