Athens, September 4, 2025 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Hellenic Republic, Timur Sultangozhin, held a meeting with Evangelos Syrigos, Member of the Hellenic Parliament and Co-сhair of the Kazakhstan-Greece Parliamentary Friendship Group.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Kazakh-Greek cooperation, including in the context of the visit of the Greek parliamentary delegation to Astana in June of this year. Special attention was given to enhancing interparliamentary interaction, including within international parliamentary platforms such as the OSCE PA and PACE.
The parties exchanged views on the development of trade and economic ties, investment cooperation, as well as the expansion of the bilateral political dialogue. They emphasized mutual interest in the further implementation of joint projects in the fields of transport, logistics, energy, and digitalization.
In the context of discussing Kazakhstan’s domestic political processes, Ambassador Sultangozhin informed his counterpart about the key provisions of the annual Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, delivered in September of this year. In particular, issues of further digitalization, socio-economic transformation, and the continuation of political reforms including the transition to a unicameral parliament were highlighted.
For his part, MP Syrigos highly praised Kazakhstan’s efforts to modernize the system of public administration and strengthen democratic institutions. He expressed support for the ongoing reforms and wished success in their implementation.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue and to prepare a return visit of Kazakh parliamentarians to Athens.
