New Delhi, September 2, 2025 – Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to India Azamat Yeskarayev held a meeting with the Minister of Civil Aviation of the Republic of India Ram Mohan Naidu.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for enhancing bilateral air connectivity, with particular emphasis on the potential for expanding the network of direct flights between the regions of Kazakhstan and India.
Ambassador Yeskarayev informed the Indian aviation authorities on Kazakhstan's interest in launching direct air flight on the routes “Almaty – Hyderabad” and “Almaty – Ahmedabad”. In this context, he emphasized Kazakhstan’s readiness to facilitate greater access for Indian airlines to the Kazakh aviation market.
Furthermore, the Kazakh diplomat also briefed the Indian side on the strategic initiatives being undertaken by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to modernize the national civil aviation sector, including the creation of six international air hubs and the establishment of a national cargo airline.
Minister Naidu, noting the growing demand for direct air connectivity between the two countries, both among citizens of Kazakhstan and India, expressed support for the proposed initiative and affirmed India’s willingness to engage in further dialogue to explore its implementation.
As an outcome, both sides agreed that expanding the inclusion of new cities within the framework of the existing Bilateral Air Services Agreement would contribute to strengthening business ties, increasing tourist flows, and developing interregional cooperation.
The Bilateral Air Services Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of India was signed on 10 September 1993 and ratified by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 10 December 1998.At present, a total of 19 scheduled passenger flights are operated weekly between the two countries.
