Kazakhstan and India to Boost the Cooperation in the Field of Higher Education

New Delhi, August 27, 2025 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to India Azamat Yeskarayev met with Secretary of Higher of Education of India Vineet Joshi.

During the meeting, Ambassador Yeskarayev emphasized the 33rd  anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kazakhstan and the India. He also noted that Kazakhstan highly values its longstanding strategic partnership with India, characterized by increased cooperation in the educational and humanitarian spheres and strong people-to-people ties.

In addition, the head of the Kazakh diplomatic mission informed the Indian side about advantages of the Study in Kazakhstan” project, aimed at promoting Kazakhstan as a regional academic hub in Central Asia.

Kazakh Ambassador stressed the importance of cooperation in the field of education as a key pillar of bilateral relations and the growing academic mobility between the two countries, noting that there is an opportunity to expand direct contacts between universities of Kazakhstan and India through joint research initiatives and student exchange programs. In this regard, the Indian side was invited to conclude and implement a memorandum of understanding for further development of education between two countries.

Secretary Vineet Joshi informed about the opportunities of the online portal Study in India”, which allows foreign students apply to more than 160 Indian universities and offers on more than 2,600 academic programs.

At the end of the meeting, the sides reached an agreement on the implementation of measures aimed at deepening cooperation in the field of education.
