Warsaw, June 27, 2025 – In the city of Słupsk, the VII International Scientific Seminar “Abai Readings: The History and Future of Kazakhstan’s Culture in the Eurasian Space” was held, dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayuly.
The seminar was organized in a hybrid format by the Pomeranian University in Słupsk and Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University with the active support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Poland.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the academic community of Kazakhstan and Poland, the Embassy of Kazakhstan, the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Gdańsk, as well as Kazakh and Polish students, doctoral students, and professors from Pomeranian University, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, and other universities.
During the event, participants discussed topical issues related to the development of Kazakh culture and its role in the Eurasian space, as well as prospects for further cooperation between Kazakhstan and Poland in the fields of culture and science.
Participants presented scientific reports on the following topics: “Abai’s place in modern education,” “The influence of Abai’s creative heritage on the cultural unity of Kazakhstan,” and “Abai’s teachings as the basis for educating the younger generation.” At the same time, the participants paid special attention to issues related to the preservation and promotion of the legacy of Abai Kunanbayuly.
The event featured performances of national musical works on the dombra, as well as recitations of poems by Kazakh poets.
The annual seminars, held since the Center’s opening, are the first scientific events in Poland dedicated to Abai Kunanbayuly and other representatives of Kazakh culture.
