The event took place in a warm and constructive atmosphere, reflecting the mutual interest in expanding Kazakhstan-Indonesia economic cooperation.
In his address, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Indonesia Serzhan Abdykarimov emphasized the steady development of bilateral relations and underlined the importance of strengthening trade and economic partnerships with representatives of Indonesia’s small and medium-sized businesses. He elaborated on the key areas of investment cooperation, highlighting Kazakhstan’s priority economic sectors – the agro-industrial complex, renewable and traditional energy, healthcare, infrastructure, and digitalization.
Particular attention was given to the growing interest in Kazakh products in the Indonesian market, as well as to prospects for exports and the establishment of joint production ventures. The participants were provided with detailed information on the current conditions for starting and conducting business in Kazakhstan, including simplified company registration procedures, investor rights protection, and government support instruments.
The presentation also highlighted Kazakhstan’s strategic role as a key transit hub in Eurasia. Demonstrations were made of logistical routes connecting China, the Eurasian Economic Union and European Union member states, as well as opportunities for utilizing Kazakhstan’s infrastructure to access new markets for Indonesian products. Participants were also briefed on the operations of the Astana International Financial Centre and special economic zones, which offer a wide range of incentives for foreign investors, including tax and customs exemptions, subsidies, and access to modern infrastructure.
A video showcasing Kazakhstan’s tourist attractions and the national “Born Bold” initiative, aimed at promoting the country’s image as a dynamically developing and open state, was presented. Of particular interest was the “Salam Kazakhstan” magazine, which introduces Indonesian audiences to Kazakhstan’s culture, nature, and investment climate.
Following the main presentation, a lively and substantive discussion was held with members of the Indonesian Chamber of Entrepreneurs. Comprehensive answers were provided to questions concerning the visa regime (including the possibility of obtaining a 10-year multiple-entry visa), tax incentives, investment protection, and specific projects in which Indonesian businesses may participate.
At the conclusion of the event, the leadership of the Indonesian Chamber of Entrepreneurs expressed gratitude for the informative presentation and emphasized the strong interest of the Indonesian business community in establishing closer ties with Kazakh partners. In this regard, representatives of the Chamber shared their plans to organize a business visit to Kazakhstan in order to gain a deeper understanding of the investment environment, legal framework, as well as to familiarize themselves on-site with infrastructure, production localization opportunities, and business operating conditions.
