The International Day of Dialogue Among Civilizations was Celebrated at the UNESCAP Headquarters in Bangkok

Bangkok, June 10, 2025 – The Asia-Pacific Commemoration of the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations was held at the headquarters of UN ESCAP.

The ceremony brought together high-level representatives from diplomatic missions in Bangkok, the Government of Thailand, the ESCAP Secretariat, UN system entities, and other international organizations, as well as experts and youth representatives from across the Asia-Pacific region.

The event aimed to strengthen solidarity and cooperation among countries, and to promote partnerships based on equality and mutual respect for common progress and prosperity.

In his remarks, Ambassador Arman Issetov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to UN ESCAP, emphasized that Kazakhstan remains firmly committed to promoting intercultural and interfaith dialogues, which are regarded as fundamental for maintaining global peace and security. One of Kazakhstan’s key initiatives in this area is the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which has been contributing to international dialogue for over twenty years.

As part of the cultural segment of the program, a Thai ensemble performed traditional Kazakh dances, showcasing the spirit of intercultural exchange and friendship.
