Kazakhstan and Luxembourg Maintain Active Dialogue

Luxembourg, June 10, 2025 – As part of a working visit to Luxembourg, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg, Margulan Baimukhan, held separate meetings with the Diplomatic Advisor to the Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Loris Nicoletti, the Deputy Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Alain de Muyser, and the Director of the International Department of the Chamber of Commerce of the Grand Duchy, Cindy Tereba.

During the meeting with Diplomatic Advisor Nicoleti, the progress of implementing agreements reached during a telephone conversation between President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister of Luxembourg Luc Frieden on April 30 this year was discussed. The Luxembourg politician emphasized the country’s leadership’s commitment to further strengthening multifaceted cooperation with Kazakhstan.

Special attention was given to the implementation of upcoming political and economic events. The Kazakh diplomat also informed the Luxembourg politician about the dynamic development of ties between Kazakhstan and the European Union, highlighting the expansion of cooperation in critical raw materials, green energy, digitalization, and the efficient use of transport and transit potential.

At the meeting with A.de Muyser, bilateral relations and regional cooperation in the EU-Central Asia format were discussed. Upcoming Kazakh-Luxembourg events were also reviewed.

During the meeting with Director Tereba, prospects for further deepening trade, economic, and investment ties between the two countries were explored. Cindy Tereba noted the dynamic development of cooperation between business entities of Kazakhstan and Luxembourg. The outcomes of the Kazakh business mission’s visit to Luxembourg on June 6 this year were also highly praised.

In 2024, the volume of foreign direct investments from Luxembourg to Kazakhstan exceeded 520 million US dollars.
