Amman, June 1, 2025 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Jordan Talgat Shaldanbay met with Amman Mayor Yousef Al Shawarbeh at the Greater Amman Municipality.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the prospects for expanding Kazakh-Jordanian cooperation at the level of capital cities, with special attention paid to the development of cultural and humanitarian ties.
The main focus of the discussion was the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Jordan in February 2025. In particular, the discussion focused on the further expansion of interaction between the sister cities of Astana and Amman. Special attention was paid to the preparation of joint cultural initiatives.
Ambassador Shaldanbay emphasized that the interaction between the capitals reflects the high level of political trust, as well as cultural and spiritual affinity between Kazakhstan and Jordan.
Mayor Al Shawarbeh, in turn, expressed readiness for active interaction with Astana, noting that such contacts contribute to the rapprochement of nations and create a solid foundation for a sustainable partnership between the capitals of the two countries.
As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to maintain a regular dialogue and jointly work out concrete steps aimed at filling the bilateral cooperation between Astana and Amman with practical content.
