Ankara, May 30, 2025 – The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Türkiye organized a special cultural and educational event for children of the Kazakh diaspora living in Ankara. The celebration was dedicated to International Children’s Day (June 1) and Kazakhstan’s State Symbols Day (June 4).
The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Afterwards, the national flag was ceremoniously raised with the participation of the children and their parents. This heartfelt moment inspired the children and guests alike, evoking a sense of pride and love for their homeland.
During the program, the children were introduced to the national symbols of Kazakhstan – the Flag and the Emblem – and were given information about their history and significance. The young participants crafted their own representations of the flag using colorful paper, featuring the sun, the eagle, and traditional ornaments. They also assembled the Emblem using specially prepared puzzles, helping them better understand its composition.
Quiz games were held, allowing the children to answer questions about Kazakhstan’s history, geography, and state symbols while sharing their knowledge. National games were played, and children were introduced to Kazakh traditions. They also tasted traditional Kazakh dishes, bringing them one step closer to their cultural heritage.
At the end of the celebration, the children showcased their talents by reciting poems and literary passages they had learned in Kazakh language classes. Notably, in honor of the 180th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet Abai Qunanbaiuly, his poems and wise sayings were beautifully presented.
The main goal of the event was to foster national identity and patriotic spirit among Kazakh children growing up abroad, promote respect for state symbols, and strengthen cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Türkiye.
