Haifa, May 23, 2025 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Israel, Daulet Yemberdiyev, visited one of the largest Mediterranean port cities – Haifa.
During a meeting with Mayor Yona Yahav, the parties discussed prospects for developing cooperation between cities of Kazakhstan at the municipal level. Ambassador Yemberdiyev expressed interest in studying Haifa’s experience in urban innovation, digital services, and AI-based governance.
Particular attention was paid to the strategic importance of the Port of Haifa. The Ambassador emphasized that Kazakhstan is currently actively working on expanding its global trade routes, with the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route being one of the key projects. Connecting this route to Haifa may open up new opportunities for both countries.
Yona Yahav expressed confidence that these steps, along with ongoing dialogue between cities and the mutual interest shared by both governments, will lead to fruitful cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to explore establishing sister-city relations and joint initiatives, and agreed to use the full potential of both sides to strengthen mutually beneficial relations.
