Brussels, May 9, 2025 – On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in World War II, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Belgium took part in a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Brussels Cemetery.

The ceremony was held in an atmosphere of deep respect for the heroism of the soldiers who perished in the fight against fascism. The event was attended by diplomats of the Embassy, officers of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan accredited to the NATO headquarters in Belgium, as well as representatives of foreign diplomatic missions.

During the years of the Great Patriotic War, over 1.2 million Kazakhstani citizens were called to the front, half of whom heroically died. More than 500 Kazakhstani soldiers were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Nine out of ten bullets were cast from Kazakhstani lead.
