New Delhi, May 9, 2025 – In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to India Azamat Eskaraev, along with diplomats from the Embassy of Kazakhstan, took part in a solemn flower-laying ceremony at the Victory Monument in the Indian capital.
The event was held at the memorial located at the Embassy of Russia in India and brought together representatives of diplomatic missions from CIS countries.
Ambassador Eskaraev emphasized the historical significance of Victory Day and highlighted the enormous contribution of the peoples of the Soviet Union, including Kazakhs, to the defeat of Nazism. It was noted that more than 1.2 million Kazakh citizens were mobilized during the war, and more than half of them did not return home. Five hundred Kazakhs were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
The ceremony concluded with a moment of silence and the laying of flowers in memory of the fallen.
