Kazakhstan and Latvia Expand Interregional Co-Operation

Jelgava, April 29, 2025 – The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Latvia, Dauren Karipov, paid a working visit to Jelgava, an important industrial center of the country.

During a meeting with the Chairman of the Jelgava City Council, Andris Ravins, the parties exchanged proposals for establishing interregional cooperation.

In addition, the Kazakh diplomat informed about the main political and economic developments in Kazakhstan. Highlighting Kazakhstan’s favorable investment climate, he invited Latvian companies to participate in joint projects in transport and logistics, industry, agriculture, and the IT sector. In this context, the appointment of an Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the region was discussed.

For his part, Andris Ravins emphasized the city’s interest in cooperation with Kazakhstan and expressed readiness to support Kazakh business activities in the region.

As part of the visit, the Ambassador visited Jelgava Technology Secondary School and the waste processing and management company “Jelgavas komunālie pakalpojumi.”
