Tanzania Expands Cooperation with Kazakhstan

Dar es Salaam, March 27, 2025 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East Africa Cooperation of the United Republic of Tanzania hosted a meeting between Yerkin Akhinzhanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to South Africa and Tanzania concurrently, and Denis Londo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tanzania and Member of Parliament.

During the meeting, both sides discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation, including trade and economic ties, as well as collaboration in education and humanitarian affairs. Particular attention was given to visa arrangements. An agreement was reached to include Kazakhstan in the list of countries whose citizens can obtain a visa on arrival without prior application. The Kazakh delegation expressed gratitude, highlighting this step as a contribution to the strengthening of friendly relations between the two nations.

The Ambassador also briefed the Tanzanian side on Kazakhstan’s key political and economic reforms, along with major upcoming international events. In particular, he introduced the Astana International Forum 2025 (AIF2025) – a global platform for addressing international challenges, and the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which fosters dialogue between religious and political leaders.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to further developing bilateral relations.
