Banská Bystrica, March 25, 2025 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Slovak Republic, Zhanna Saginova, took part in a solemn ceremony dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the city of Banská Bystrica.
The event was attended by the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini, members of the Government, local authorities, and the diplomatic corps accredited in Slovakia.
During the ceremony, participants honored the memory of fallen heroes with a moment of silence and laid wreaths at the Monument to the Liberators. In their speeches, officials emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory of the events of World War II, as well as the values of solidarity and peace among nations.
On the same day, the Kazakh Ambassador also laid flowers in the city of Zvolen to commemorate the 80th anniversary of its liberation, which took place on March 14. This act served as a deep expression of respect for the heroism of the liberators and a tribute to those who gave their lives for freedom and peace on Slovak soil.
These commemorative events served as a vivid example of the importance of preserving historical memory and further strengthening relations between countries. The Ambassador of Kazakhstan noted that such occasions remind us of the value of unity and solidarity in defending peace and ensuring a future for new generations.
