Armenian Students Tasted Nauryz Kozhe

Yerevan, March 20, 2025 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia Bolat Imanbayev met with the students – listeners of the Center for Kazakh Language, History and Culture named after Abai at Yerevan State University. The event, which was also attended by the faculty members of YSU and media representatives, was dedicated to the celebration of Nauryz meiramy.

During the lecture, the Ambassador talked spoke in detail about the importance of the Nauryz holiday for the Kazakh people, dwelling in detail on the deep meaning of the new concept of celebration in the Nauryznama format, filled with national traditions and symbols. It was emphasized that the revival of the original national holiday of the Great Steppe makes Nauryz bright and saturated with cultural, humanitarian and sports events that demonstrate a rich and multifaceted Kazakh history and instill respect for the culture and traditions of the native land, as well as universal values.

In order to get acquainted with the elements of the holiday, the participants of the event enjoyed getting acquainted with traditional dishes, tasting Nauryz kozhe, reminiscent, according to their estimates, of the ancient Armenian “tanapur” soup, baursaks, shelpeks, etc. In the performance of compatriots sounded kui “Konil Tolqyny”, “Erke Sylkym”, which are the pearls of Kazakh culture. A brief excursion into the history of national clothing and its features was carried out, video materials about the celebration of Nauryz in Kazakhstan were demonstrated.

In turn, the Head of the Department of Turkology of Yerevan State University, professor Alexander Safaryan, thanking for the opportunity presented for students to get to know Kazakh culture better, cordially congratulated citizens of Kazakhstan on the “Great holiday of Nauryz,” noting that it is “the national heritage of the Great Kazakh people.”

The teacher of the Kazakh language of the Abai Center, Shushan Khachatryan, in her congratulations in the Kazakh language wished peace and prosperity to the Kazakh people.

In addition, within the framework of the event, participants were informed about current trends in the development of Kazakhstan, focusing on the ongoing media campaign “Kazakhstan: Born Bold”, symbolizing the country’s readiness for new challenges, emphasizing its courage, progressiveness and commitment to human rights.
