Mexico City, March 13, 2025 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Mexico, Almurat Turganbekov, met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Maria Teresa Mercado.
During the meeting, they discussed current issues and prospects for the development of Kazakh-Mexican cooperation in various fields, as well as interaction within multilateral structures.
The parties emphasized that the countries have enormous potential for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation and reaffirmed that Astana and Mexico are key partners in the regions of Central Asia and Latin America.
During the conversation, the diplomats discussed plans to intensify the inter-parliamentary dialogue and hold regular political consultations between the foreign ministries of Kazakhstan and Mexico.
In turn, Deputy Minister Mercado assured that the Mexican government attaches particular importance to the opening of diplomatic mission of Mexico in the capital of Kazakhstan, which will certainly give new impetus to bilateral relations between the states. Particular attention was also paid to strengthening trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries and, in this regard, Ambassador Turganbekov invited the Mexican side to take part in the Astana International Forum in May of this year.
In addition, the interlocutors exchanged views on current issues on the international and regional agenda.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain regular contacts on current issues of bilateral cooperation.
