Opportunities for Strategic Partnership were Discussed with the Swedish Company

Vasteras, December 17, 2024 – Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Sweden, Olzhas Suleimenov, visited the headquarters of “ABB”, Sweden’s largest electrical and power engineering company. During the visit, the Kazakh diplomat was familiarised with the company’s production facilities, including a plant for the production of industrial robots, as well as with the experience of “ABB’s” high-tech mine hoists, widely used in the mining and metallurgical industry in Kazakhstan.

During the discussion with ABB’s Managing Director for Global Affairs B. Johnsson, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan noted Kazakhstan’s need for innovative technologies and robotics, particularly in the engineering, energy and mining, as well as metallurgical sectors. Taking into account the ongoing process of modernisation of key sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy, Ambassador invited the Swedish company to explore opportunities to expand partnership, including localisation of production.

In turn, representatives of “ABB” emphasised the importance of the Central Asian region and Kazakhstan for Swedish business and expressed interest in the implementing of advanced digital solutions and automation of processes in Kazakhstan, which will significantly improve productivity and environmental sustainability of key industries in Kazakhstan.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue regular dialogue aimed at strengthening mutually beneficial partnership using the existing potential.
