Sounds of the Great Steppe Conquer Helsinki

Helsinki, December 15, 2024 – In honor of the celebration of Independence Day of Kazakhstan a concert of Kazakh artists titled “The Voice of the Great Steppe” took place at the largest cultural center in the Finnish capital the “Musiikkitalo” to a full house. The event was organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Finland in collaboration with the Akimat of Astana city and the E. Rahmadiyev State Academic Philharmonic.

In his welcoming speech, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Finland Azamat Abdraimov noted that the concert became a real cultural bridge between Kazakhstan and Finland, vividly reflecting the richness of Kazakh culture and the uniqueness of its musical heritage.

This grand musical extravaganza brought together outstanding masters of Kazakh art on one stage. Among them are Honored Workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Bisengaliev, Sundet Baigozhin, Renat Gaisin, laureates of international competitions Aizhan Smailova, Nurgul Yertalapkyzy, Madina Khayrold, Farida Rakhmetova, Nargiz Almas, Shyngys Tynyshtyk, Aruzhan Arystanbek, as well as the ethnic ensemble “Korkyt”, which demonstrated the beauty of national instruments and the richness of the Kazakh musical heritage.

A special highlight of the program was the performance of the famous Finnish composition “Levan Polkka”, arranged by the ethno-ensemble “Korkyt”, which evoked genuine delight among the audience.

The inspiring atmosphere of the evening left an indelible impression on the audience, who gathered a full hall.
