South African Technologies in the Mining Industry of Kazakhstan

Pretoria, June 27, 2024 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan Yerkin Akhinzhanov convened a meeting with Paul Olckers, the founder of Fifth Dimension Technologies (5DT).

Their discussions centered on the integration of advanced simulator technologies within Kazakhstan's mining industry, aimed at enhancing operational quality, reducing professional risks, and optimizing costs for operators of specialized equipment during both training and professional activities.

The discussions also explored prospects for expanding cooperation beyond mining into other industries. South African entrepreneurs are considering Kazakhstan as a potential hub for expanding their presence throughout the Eurasian region.

Fifth Dimension Technologies specializes in developing innovative educational simulators widely utilized in sectors such as mining, construction, and trucking, establishing itself as a leader in high-tech training solutions. The company has a track record of successful collaboration in Kazakhstan, including the localization of spare parts production for its equipment.

In Kazakhstan, 5DT collaborates closely with the Eurasian Resources Group (ERG). Together with ERG, Operex, they have successfully implemented two projects, one of which received first place in the EFMD Excellence in Practice Awards 2024. These initiatives have trained over 1,500 enterprise employees through more than 4,500 courses, significantly enhancing their professional skills.
